Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) announced on Monday that “RCB Cares,” the franchise’s foundation, is working closely with the BCCI and the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) to create better crowd management protocols. This initiative comes after a tragic incident earlier this year, where 11 people lost their lives during celebrations of RCB’s first-ever IPL title win.

RCB Cares, which had earlier announced a compensation of ₹25 lakh for the families of the victims, stated that the foundation was established to support, empower, and uplift RCB’s “12th man” — their fans. The foundation has outlined a six-point formula to achieve this goal, but implementation will begin only after receiving government approval.

Apart from financial support, the agenda also focuses on providing additional assistance in various areas. This includes collaborating with stadium authorities, sports bodies, and league partners to design and execute improved crowd management protocols.

The franchise has also committed to developing a fan safety audit framework and providing training for on-ground partners to ensure better preparedness during matches. Additionally, RCB Cares plans to create job opportunities for local talent within stadium premises, aiming to empower the community while enhancing overall fan experiences.
