Some Interesting Facts about Ashwani Kumar
- Ashwani Kumar is the first Indian bowler to take a four wicket haul on debut in IPL. He achieved the feat on 31 March 2024, while playing against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
- Ashwani has played for BLV Blasters in Sher-E-Punjab T20 Cup. He has won a championship with them.

- Ashwani comes from a humble family that could not pay for his cricket endeavours. Despite that, he honed his skills and ultimatley debuted for Punjab at the age of 18. However, a hamstring injury sidelined him.
- Ashwani made a comeback in the 2021-2022 season but could only feature in one Ranji and Vijay Trophy game each.

- Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings scouted him during the 2024 SMAT season and he went for trials as a net bowler for Punjab Kings. Later, he went for trials to Chennai and Mumbai Indians’ facility as well.
