West Indies recently suffered a whitewash at home in the Test series against Australia. They were bowled out for just 27 runs in the final innings of the third Test match. Following this, Cricket West Indies held an emergency meeting with legends of Caribbean cricket. The West Indies team will now look to move past that disappointing loss and turn the tide in the T20I series. The first match of the series is scheduled to be played on 20th July 2025 at 7:00 PM GMT. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has already revealed the match officials for the 1st T20I between West Indies and Australia.
The umpires and match referees will play a crucial role in the upcoming match. There was recently a major uproar after umpire Adrian Holdstock made several controversial decisions during the West Indies vs Australia Test series. He was criticised by Darren Sammy, who was later fined for his comments. Shai Hope will lead the West Indies in the T20Is against Australia, while the Kangaroos will be captained by Mitchell Marsh.
