A shocking case of an attempted match-fixing has come to light in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League 2025 (Uttar Pradesh Premier League 2025). Kashi Rudras team manager Arjun Chauhan was allegedly offered ₹1 crore through social media to influence a player’s performance according to a pre-planned strategy.
Reports claim that the fixer wanted one of the team’s players to play as per his instructions. However, Arjun Chauhan immediately rejected the offer and reported the matter to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
How the match-fixing attempt was planned
During BCCI’s preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the suspected individual repeatedly tried to contact Arjun Chauhan and pressured him to cooperate. The first contact was made on 19 August at 11:12 PM through an Instagram account named vipss_nakrani. Initially, the user approached Arjun for promotional activities but later attempted to make a call and directly proposed match-fixing.
The user allegedly offered ₹1 crore, out of which Arjun could keep ₹50 lakh. The fixer also promised that the payment would be transferred in US dollars via online channels.
