One of them is Chennai Super Kings (CSK), where veteran MS Dhoni will soon celebrate his 45th birthday. With his participation in IPL 2026 uncertain, CSK may be preparing for a future without him. The second team could be Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who are reportedly uncertain about continuing with Quinton de Kock and Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
Trading Window Timeline
The IPL trading window opened on June 4, a day after the IPL 2025 final. It will remain open until about a week before the player auction for IPL 2026. Once the auction concludes, the trading window will reopen and stay active until roughly one month before the new season begins.
A source from the Rajasthan Royals camp stated, “Several franchises have reached out multiple times for at least six of our players. Similarly, we’ve also approached other teams regarding some options. In trades, what matters most is strengthening the squad — don’t assume that Rajasthan Royals are any different. Many franchise owners are in regular contact with each other regarding possible trades.”
Will Rajasthan Royals Let Go of Sanju Samson?
Sanju Samson has been an integral part of the Rajasthan Royals for a long time. However, Riyan Parag is emerging as a strong contender for the captaincy. He even led the team in Samson’s absence due to injury. With Guwahati being Rajasthan Royals’ second home base, Parag’s leadership role may gain momentum.
