Today is the decisive day of the WTC 2025 Final, and cricket fans around the world are eagerly waiting to see whether South Africa or Australia will emerge as the new Test champions. After Day 3, South Africa appears to be in a strong position. However, the team has long carried the unfortunate tag of “chokers,” so their fans will only breathe easy once the win is officially sealed.

ICC Announces Record Prize Money
The International Cricket Council (ICC) had already announced the prize money for the WTC 2025 Final last month. Compared to the previous two editions, this year’s prize pool has more than doubled.
In the 2021 edition, New Zealand, and in 2023, Australia, received $1.6 million each (around ₹13 crore) for winning the Test mace.
However, this time, the winner will take home a whopping $3.6 million, which is approximately ₹31 crore. The runner-up will also receive a handsome $2.16 million, around ₹18 crore.
Not Just Finalists — Other Teams Also Rewarded
Even teams that did not make it to the final, including India and Pakistan, have earned significant prize money.
India, who finished third in the WTC standings, has been awarded ₹12.31 crore.
