All eyes of cricket fans are currently on India’s tour of England, where the senior Indian team will play a five-match Test series against the hosts. Interestingly, during this period, multiple Indian teams are or will be in England. The Indian Under-19 team is also set to tour England, the India A tour has just concluded, the Indian women’s team will soon play there, and even India’s mixed disabled team is preparing for an England tour.
Emerging Team Announced for England Tour
Amidst this, another Indian cricket team has been announced—this time by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). The MCA has decided to send its Emerging Team to England, and the squad for the tour has been officially announced. Suryansh Shedge has been named captain of the side, which will tour England for one month starting 28 June 2025.
The team will play five two-day matches and four one-day matches against various county and local teams in England. The main aim of this tour is to give young players valuable international exposure while enhancing their technical, strategic, and mental skills.
Talented Young Players in the Squad
The 16-member squad features many promising talents, including batting all-rounder Musheer Khan, opening batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi, and young spinner Himanshu Singh. Alongside captain Shedge, Vedant Murkar has been appointed the vice-captain. Several players in the squad have already represented Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy, making this tour even more significant for their growth.
Mumbai’s emerging team will face strong opposition such as Nottinghamshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, and Coun ty Challengers.
