Even though cloudy weather was forecast for yesterday’s play in the second Test between India and England at Edgbaston, the surface was hard-baked, with the sun shining for most of the day. Indian bowlers were put to test by the duo of Harry Brook and Jamie Smith with their partnership of over 300 runs for the sixth wicket.
India did manage to wrap up the English batting line-up with the new ball but the cloudy conditions could have helped them bundle out England for much lesser. India is batting again with a lead of 244 runs in the second innings. KL Rahul and Karun Nair are at the crease and they would hope that rainy weather comes after their turn at the batting.
