India vs England 2nd Test is going on at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham, England. Currently, India is bossing the match on the back of Shubman Gill’s double century and Yashasvi Jaiswal’s dominating half-century. England is expected to do the bulk of their batting in the 1st innings on the third day of Test match.

IND vs ENG 2nd Test 2025 Weather Forecast for Day 3

Cloudy skies are expected to persist on day 3 of the second Test match between India and England. There is also a forecast of rain but that is expected to run its course after the play for the day is over. However, the cloudy weather with assist the pace bowlers as dukes balls have a tendency to swing when there is no proper sunlight.

IND vs ENG 2nd Test 2025 Playing XI

Indian Team: Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Karun Nair, Shubman Gill (Captain), Rishabh Pant (Vice Captain & Wicketkeeper), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna

India dropped Sai Sudharsan and moved Karun Nair at number three from number six. Jasprit Bumrah was rested and in his place Akash Deep was given a chance. There were calls for including Kuldeep Yadav in the playing XI but Washington Sundar made the cut. He replaced Sai Sudharsan in the playing XI. Additionally, Nitish Kumar Reddy replaced Shardul Thakur.

England Team: Ben Duckett, Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (Captain), Jamie Smith (Wicketkeeper), Brydon Carse, Chris Woakes, Josh Tongue, Shoaib Bashir

England did not make any changes in their playing XI despite the availability of Jofra Archer. Ben Stokes said that they wanted Archer to get in the mix with the group before finally making his comeback.
