On Thursday, 4 September, the International Cricket Council (ICC) started ticket sales for the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. This year’s tournament has become the cheapest ICC global event ever, with ticket prices starting from just ₹100 (approximately $1.14 USD).
The ICC organises several global tournaments for both men and women, but ticket prices have never been this low. A four-day pre-sale began on 4 September, giving fans an opportunity to book tickets at record-low rates.
The previous edition of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup was held in New Zealand in 2022. Back then, the cheapest tickets for children cost 7 NZD (around ₹350 or $4.45 USD), and for adults, the lowest price was 17 NZD (around ₹850 or $10 USD) — almost 8.5 times costlier than this year’s tickets.
The 2025 tournament is being co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, with the opening match scheduled for 30 September in Guwahati. Ticket sales started almost four weeks before the tournament.
This will be the 13th edition of the Women’s Cricket World Cup, featuring eight teams: India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, England, and South Africa. The tournament will follow a round-robin format, where each team will play against the other seven teams once. The top four teams on the points table will qualify for the semi-finals, and the final will take place on 2 November.
Pakistan will play all their matches in Sri Lanka. If Pakistan reaches the final, it will also be held in Sri Lanka, otherwise, the final will take place in India.
The ICC has also announced a record prize pool of $13.88 million USD for this tournament, which is four times higher than the 2022 edition’s prize money of $3.5 million USD.
