ICC Announces Record Prize Money for Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the prize money for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, and this time, there is a massive increase in the total rewards. The upcoming mega event will take place from 30th September to 2nd November 2025 across India and Sri Lanka. Compared to the last edition, the prize money has been increased by a huge 297 percent.

In the 2022 Women’s ODI World Cup, the total prize pool was USD 3.5 million, but for the 2025 tournament, the ICC has allocated a record-breaking USD 13.88 million. Interestingly, this is higher than the total prize money of the Men’s ODI World Cup 2023, which was USD 10 million.

The 13th edition of the Women’s World Cup will be played across five venues – Guwahati, Indore, Navi Mumbai, Visakhapatnam in India and Colombo in Sri Lanka. The winner of the tournament will take home USD 4.48 million (around ₹39 crore), which is 239 percent more than the last edition when Australia received USD 1.32 million (around ₹11.65 crore) for winning the 2022 World Cup in New Zealand. Notably, this amount is also higher than the Men’s World Cup 2023 winners’ prize of USD 4 million (around ₹35 crore).

The runner-up team will receive USD 2.24 million (approximately ₹19.80 crore), a 273 percent increase compared to the last edition when England got just USD 600,000 (around ₹5.2 crore). Losing semifinalists will each get USD 1.12 million (around ₹9.88 crore), which was only USD 300,000 in 2022. Additionally, each group stage match win will earn a team USD 34,314 (about ₹30 lakh). Teams finishing fifth and sixth will receive USD 700,000 each, while those ending seventh and eighth will get USD 280,000 each. Apart from this, every participating team will receive an assured USD 250,000.
