A five-match Test series is being played between India and England under the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. Four matches of the series have already been completed. Now, the fifth and final Test of the series will be played at The Oval in London from 31 July (Thursday).
England has announced its squad for this decisive Test. Fast-bowling all-rounder Jamie Overton has been recalled to the team. Overton was part of the England squad for the first three Tests of the series but was released ahead of the Manchester Test so that he could play a County Championship match for Surrey. Now, the 31-year-old has been brought back into the squad.
Jamie Overton has so far played one Test match for England, where he scored 97 runs and took 2 wickets. He has vast experience in first-class cricket, having played 98 matches with 237 wickets at an average of 31.23 and scoring 2,401 runs at an average of 21.82.
On the Indian side, there has been one change for The Oval Test. Vice-captain and wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been ruled out due to an injury to his right leg. In his place, Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper-batter Narayan Jagadeesan has been included in the Indian squad for the fifth Test.
