The England Cricket Board (ECB) has finally released the England Cricket Team squad for the Test series against India. However, there is a twist. The squad is announced only for the 1st Test. This is probably due to injuries to certain England cricketers. Chris Woakes has finally returned to England’s squad after an injury. He is fully fit and may edge out Sam Cook in the playing XI of 1st Test against India.
Jacob Bethell has also returned to the squad. He is in good touch and it will be interesting to see whether he gets to play in the first game or not. Brydon Carse is also coming back after an injury, while Gus Atkinson misses out due to one. Jamie Overton is also named in the squad. However, he is currently injured and his fitness is going to be assessed before the Test at Headingley begins on 20th June.
