Don Bradman is considered one of the greatest cricket players in the world. During his era, he ruled the cricketing world and inspired many young players to take up the sport. Now, the cap worn by Don Bradman during the 1946-47 Ashes series has been purchased by the National Museum of Australia.

Cap Purchased for Around ₹2.52 Crore

According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, the National Museum of Australia paid a huge price to acquire Don Bradman’s cap. The cap was bought for AU$438,500, which is approximately ₹2.52 crore (₹25,291,955.79) in Indian currency. The federal government contributed half of the cost. Bradman wore this cap while captaining Australia during the 1946-47 Ashes series, which was the first Test series against England after World War II. Australia delivered an outstanding performance and won the series 3-0.

    Tony Burke Praises the Move

Arts Minister Tony Burke praised the acquisition, stating, “It’s rare to find an Australian who hasn’t heard of the great Donald Bradman, who is undoubtedly the greatest cricketer of all time. Having his cap displayed at the National Museum of Australia will give visitors a chance to connect with our nation’s sporting history and heritage.”
