Cricket fans are eagerly waiting for the Asia Cup 2025. According to reports, the tournament is likely to begin in September and will be played in the UAE. Now, another big update has come out regarding this tournament. As per this report, Team India might face Pakistan not once but as many as three times during Asia Cup 2025. While there has been an ongoing debate between BCCI and PCB over the venue of the Asia Cup, the latest update suggests that these two teams could clash more than once.
Will both teams be in the same group?
The Asia Cup 2025 will be played in the T20 format, and there is a possibility that India and Pakistan could be placed in the same group. If that happens, both teams will meet at least once during the group stage. After that, they could face each other again in the Super Six round. If both India and Pakistan perform exceptionally well and reach the final, then there is a chance of a third clash between the two in the tournament.

BCCI denies confirmation
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia has confirmed that Board Vice President Rajeev Shukla attended the ACC meeting. “He interacted with everyone there, and I believe an official confirmation will be made in a few days,” Saikia said.
India and Pakistan last faced each other during the Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai in the group stage. That tournament was initially scheduled to be hosted in Pakistan, but after BCCI refused, some matches were held in Dubai under a hybrid model. In that match, India put up a strong performance and registered a comfortable win. Batting first, Pakistan were bowled out for 241 runs, and India chased down the target within 43 overs.
