Namibia and Zimbabwe have officially secured their spots for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, joining the list of 17 confirmed teams. On Thursday, October 2, both teams booked their tickets to next year’s tournament in India and Sri Lanka through the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Africa Qualifier. Namibia defeated Tanzania in the semifinal, while Zimbabwe overcame Kenya.
The 2026 T20 World Cup will feature a total of 20 teams, which means three more spots are still up for grabs. Let’s see where these final three teams will come from.
Last 3 teams to qualify will come from Asia-EAP Qualifier
In the next two weeks, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia-Pacific Regional Final will take place, featuring 9 teams. Out of these, 3 teams will qualify for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
For this Asian event:
- Group A: UAE, Malaysia, Qatar
- Group B: Japan, Nepal, Kuwait
- Group C: Papua New Guinea, Oman, Samoa
The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 6 stage. In total, 21 matches will be played, and the top 3 teams from the Super 6 will qualify for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
