India Did Not Lift the Trophy, BCCI Announced Prize Money
Despite winning the title, Team India did not lift the Asia Cup trophy. The players had decided not to accept it from ACC President Mohsin Naqvi, and as a result, the ceremony ended without the trophy presentation. Reports suggested that the team could have received it from the Vice-President of the Emirates Cricket Board, but they chose not to.
Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a massive cash reward for the team and support staff. For this title-winning performance, BCCI will award a total prize of ₹21 crore to the players and support staff.
