On Friday, during the first day of the opening Test match in Leeds, the Indian team scored 359 runs for the loss of three wickets in 85 overs, thanks to centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill. Carse dismissed KL Rahul, who scored 42 runs off 78 balls. Just before lunch, England picked up their second wicket when Sai Sudharsan was dismissed for a duck. Yashasvi Jaiswal went on to score 101 runs off 159 balls before being clean bowled by Ben Stokes. After that, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant ensured no further wickets fell.
